We have a small block, and I can only fit 100m of sub-surface drippers in the backyard. Can I place the other required 50m in the front yard? 

Yes, you can split the sub-surface irrigation (with shire approval). If irrigation is split into more than one area, all other areas must be irrigated to a minimum of 150m2 subject to your shire’s approval
